On this occasion, the general secretary was able to talk about his impressions with Mrs Anjara Manantsara, Head of the North region of Madagascar and president of the Bay of Diego Association, as well as Mr Barthélemi Vaohita, president of the association’s executive committee and Dean of the University, and give lots of encouragement from the world club (see photo). During successive meetings, Mr Bodard was able to grasp the local state of affairs, balanced between a difficult economic and local situation and a bay with extraordinary assets, particularly in relation to its exceptional endemic fauna and flora and a highly motivated and skilled local team.

In the evening, Mrs Joelle Cousinaud, manager of the French alliance in Diego, with the support of Mrs Irénée Rasolo, the bay association secretary, organised a prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the local “This is my bay” competition as well as for those who won the art competition on the theme of the Bay of Diego. This was a enjoyable event ending Bruno Bodard’s visit and to which he paid a glowing tribute, emphasising, that these campaigns to make young people aware of the environment are an example of the actions that the club means to support all over the world.
