GIROLATA & PORTO GULF
The littoral is shredded, with ilôts, caves and high rocks with broad inaccessible which shelters a fauna and a marine flora very rich; it constitutes a remarkable example of maquis where are maintained traditional activities (agriculture, élévage).
The villages of Porto and Girolata are both dominated by a square tower génoise (XVIè).
The Gulf of Porto-Girolata and the reserve of Scandola have been on the UNESCO world-heriritage list since 1983.
