AGADIR BAY

The Bay of Souss-Massa is at the end of the Souss valley, bounded on the north by the High Atlas and south by the Anti-Atlas. Agadir (in Berber "in the city of High") is the regional capital, it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1960 (15 000 deaths).

Rebuilt, it has now become the first fishing port in the country and a famous seaside resort. The National Park Souss-Massa (1991), regarded as a park "model" at the national level, includes landscapes (coastal cliffs, dunes, estuaries wadi Souss and Massa ,...).
